After my last post I feel the need to be a little more down to earth with all of you. In all seriousness is there anything that could possibly be better than being a Mother? Sometimes, like all of you I am sure, there are days that I can not wait for their bedtimes. But I find that the majority of the time I dread that their bedtime is coming closer, as if there could never be enough hours in the day with my precious little ones.
I sit here wracking my mind trying to think on what to put down onto the typed page in front of me as my son takes his hands and slowly feels my face. Memorizing each detail as belonging to his mother. I love moments like this one, I treasure them.
There are times that I find myself complaining about how clingy my daughter can be, my son can be content to play for hours by himself while I am lucky if my daughter lasts ten minutes. But the truth is, I love that she needs me. I love that when I enter a room their tiny little eyes immediately focus on me as if they had eyes only for me, I love that my mere presence can bring a smile to their little faces, and most of all I love having no doubt that they love me just as much as I love them. Even if they might not always realize it.
My fellow Mothers if you are anything like me then you probably laugh and shrug of comments such as "you have the most-important job in the world," but don't. We really do have the most-important job, we raise the next generation. We may not be able to control their actions, we won't always be there to tell them that what they are doing is wrong but we can set an example. Then hopefully, in the short time they are with us, they will learn what is right from what is wrong. But most importantly, if we have used their time with us wisely then they will never go a day doubting that they are loved. After all, what is life without love?
I am sorry if this post is a little too cheesy for your liking but I want all of you Mothers to know just how lucky you are.
