Recently, I started working again. The entire week prior to starting my new job I ranged from excited to terrified. One one hand I could not wait to be able to converse with other adults other than my husband (no offense) but on the other hand I could not imagine saying goodbye to my babies ever day.
Now that I have the job, saying goodbye to my babies every day is still the hardest part of my day. However, I can't say that I regret my decision. Everyday I get to see how happy my husband is now that he no longer has to work two jobs and now gets to spend time with our babies more often. Now, I get to speak to adults my own age and reassure myself that I still know how to speak English and I still get to see my babies everyday since I work nights.
This past year I have seen a lot of people say horrible things about working mothers. I honestly can't see why people would oppose a mother working. In my own opinion it does nothing but good for the family. It shows their children how to have a good work ethic, it allows the children to spend time with each parent, and it gets rid of gender stereotypes that only the male of the household can work. I think every mother should be appreciated, especially working mothers.
